Sam W. Anderson

Sam writes stories that would make Ray Bradbury proud. They're pointed, concise, and damn entertaining. Oh, and did I mention he has a collection of them coming out? He's my go to guy for any question on submitting stories, business protocol, and the habits of self-pleasuring midgets. Sam has placed work (fiction and non-fiction) in Cemetery Dance, Insidious Reflections, Doorways and Dark Animus.

Kim Despins

Kim is new on the scene, and our most recent Snutcher, but she's a veteran at heart. Her stories give the thin line between fantasy and reality a good shake, leaving you wondering not only Did that really happen?, but also, That's one twisted woman. Visit her here.

John Mantooth

Hailing from Alabama, this bus driving, English teaching, basketball coaching, beer swilling son of a bitch has the best narrative voice of anyone I know. I go homicidal with jealousy reading his stuff. He's had stories published in: Shimmer, GUD, Electric Velocipede, Horror Library Volumes I & II, and came in second in the Apex Magazine Halloween contest. Oh yeah, and his last sale was to the Ellen Datlow/Nick Mamatas anothology Haunted Legends. Pretty damn impressive, don't you think?

Petra Miller

Petra cracked two of the hardest markets out there - Writer's Digest and Doorways. That should let you know about her skills. She's currently at work on a novel Cattle Car that will definitely raise attention when it arrives.

Erik Williams

When I finish Erik's stories, I usually want to take a shower. And that's the biggest compliment I can pay a horror writer. He's placed stories in GUD, From the Asylum, Down in the Cellar, and others, but is moving onto novels where I have no doubt he'll reach greater heights.

Paul Tremblay

Paul is my unofficial, offical HWA mentor, but more than that, he's a damn nice guy and great writer. When his debut novel, The Little Sleep, comes out this March (from Henry Holt and Company Publishing), he's going to be huge. At that point, I'll be able to say, "I knew that guy when he was just a freakishly tall math teacher."
